The All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group has released their report into the Government's draft Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy Today, available to directly download here.
The group is made from members from multiple parties and regularly comments on the governments policy on cycling in the UK. This report has also taken in evidence experts who among others included from Rachel Aldred (University of Westminster), Chris Boardman (British Cyling), Roger Geffen (Cycling UK) and Robert Goodwill MP.
The group welcome the Government's recognition of the advantages of increasing cycling but state that the proposed target of doubling cycling trips by 2025 as unambitious as this would lead to only 4% of all trips compared to 27% of those in the Netherlands.

- Stronger direction from local authorities and local enterprise partnerships
- Robust bench marking of progress both nationally and locally.
- Doing more to improve the quality of cycle infrastructure & endorse national design standards.
- Deregulated street design to allow innovative infrastructure to be developed.
- Updating the Highway Code
- Action to improve enforcement of traffic laws
